A bit of a different post from me today. One containing just a few announcements.
1. Pre-order a copy of my book at 30% off + free US shipping (during March only)
In celebration of Women's History Month, IVP are honouring women who have made important contributions to the academy by offering 30% off selected titles written by their female authors. This means that for the month of March, you can pre-order my forthcoming book The Meaning of Singleness at a serious discount and have it shipped to you for free (in the US) once it is released in early May.

2. Would you prayerfully consider financially partnering with me?
You may not know this, but I serve as an independent theologian. That is, I don’t work on the faculty of a seminary or other tertiary institution. Instead, I’m a kind of “theologian at large” 😊
There are a few reasons why this is the case. For example, there are dismayingly few positions for female, complementarian, theological researchers, teachers and writers that also come with a salary or stipend attached. There are even fewer of those down here in my part of the world. And even the very few positions which do exist generally don’t allow their candidates to devote significant amounts of their time and energy to ongoing wide-ranging theological research and writing (i.e., they have an actual job to do and that takes priority!).
And so, here I am. A complementarian, single, female theologian at large… who somehow still needs to pay the bills.
Many independent researchers and writers have adopted a Patreon-like subscription model which offers different tiers of financial support with differing levels of access to their work. While I have no in-principle objection to such a model, it is not one which I have chosen to pursue. I’m eager to make my work as accessible and available to as many people as possible — not the least because it provides me with the opportunity to dialogue and learn from as many of those people as possible. And so, I am committed to keeping what I publish here entirely free of charge.
However, doing this means I rely on the generous financial partnership of those who value my work and who would like to see it continue.
If you appreciate my theological voice and contribution, would you prayerfully consider financially supporting me?
You can make a regular or one-off credit card gift at this link or by clicking on the image below.
My international friends: Please note that the platform which collects financial support on my behalf transacts in Australian dollars. This means the $ amount you specify will be in $AUD and not your local currency and so you’ll need to do some currency conversion! (For your reference, currently US$50 = AUD$75-ish).
3. FYI, I may be a little quiet over the next few weeks
Finally, I wanted to let you know that you may not hear from me quite as frequently over the next couple of weeks. I’m taking some time to recover from some medical treatment. I’ll still send out weekly excerpts from my book. And, let’s face it, there is a good chance I’ll find myself bored out of my brain and unable to resist opening my computer to share my train of thought on something or other with you all.
But if you don’t hear from me, not to worry. Like Arnie, I’ll be back 😉
